Flash Area.

Please note that this exhibition closed on December 26, 2007

The "PHOTO IS" Gallery on the 1st floor of FUJIFILM SQUARE is pleased to announce the photo exhibition Christmas Story − Christmas Scenes from Around the World, which runs from November 30 through December 26. The Christmas season is represented in a variety of styles and forms all over the world, from traditional, simple and humorous representations to the Japanese-style Christmas in which trends and things with a visual impact vie to catch the eye.

The exhibition brings together a collection of photographs depicting the many faces of the Christmas season from around the world. The photos have been taken by Kanichiro Uehara who has spent 13 years traveling the world and capturing the essence of Christmas in the countries he has visited. He also provides several heartwarming stories and explanatory episodes of the photos on display.

Another feature of the exhibition is a valuable Polyphone Console Style 104 antique music box from the 19th century which automatically plays a variety of Christmas music.

The entire 1st floor area of FUJIFILM SQUARE including the "PHOTO IS" Gallery is adorned with Christmas decorations giving the whole showroom area a very festive atmosphere.

Visitors are cordially invited to come and taste a new type of Christmas presented through photographs, Christmas stories and music.

Originally manufactured ca. 1890 by the German company Polyphone, the Console Style 104 is equipped with a disc-playing device, and this fine example of antique music boxes is able to play music at a large volume. It is installed with a disc-changing device allowing for a great variety of music to be played.
