A Message from Outer Space - Lunar Mysteries and the kaguya Space Mission -

Flash Area.

Please note that this exhibition closed on Wednesday, February 27, 2008

The "PHOTO IS" gallery on the first floor of the FUJIFILM SQUARE showroom is pleased to present the photographic exhibition "A Message from Outer Space − Lunar Mysteries and the Kaguya Space Mission," from February 1 to February 27, 2008.

On September 14, 2007, the Kaguya lunar orbiter spacecraft was launched into space equipped with satellite optics lenses developed by Fujifilm Group company Fujinon. The lunar explorer was launched to investigate the origins and the geological evolution of the moon, and is currently conducting numerous tasks on its lunar orbit, including transmitting some fantastic photographs that portray the lunar surface with startling clarity.

Along with the advances being made in our understanding, the moon has held a particular fascination for humans since time immemorial, and the many theories and legends that have developed over the centuries have further increased the mysterious appeal of the moon.

This photo exhibition aims to combine science and romance by featuring several images which display both the stark realities and the stunning beauty of the moon.

With the kind cooperation of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), we will present a talk show on the field of astronomy, while an event will also be held which enables visitors to view the moon through a giant telescope developed by Fujinon.

We would like to extend a cordial invitation to one and all to come and experience a combination of science and romance − the stark realities and the stunning beauty of the moon.

FUJIFILM Corporation is a proud supporter of the Kaguya space mission.
