Serkan Günes
Born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1980, he moved to Sweden in 2000. His journey with Photography started on his 22nd birthday when he firstly had his own camera, which changed his life as his passion on guitar was to photography. With the camera, he traveled and explored the Swedish nature including forest, lake and archipelagos, where he met “Nordic light”.
Serkan Günes won the "Eric Hosking Award", which is awarded for young photographers. This contest is annual contest held by BBC Wildlife Magazine and The Natural History Museum in London and is considered as the most prestigious award in wildlife photography genre.
Serkan Günes was also elected Nature Photographer of the Year 2009 by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. His work has been published in Scandinavia and internationally, and he is a member of the Swedish Society of Nature Photographers. Serkan Günes has a particular love for landscapes, and his photographs capture the essence of nature with his unique poetic flair.
